These are just some of the findings from those attending the 2018 programme of 1st Steps in Dementia Study Days.
During these Study Days, participants were encouraged to record their learning and intended post course actions under the heading of Make Today Count. The findings have now been included in a summary report based on 160 participants including physiotherapists, exercise instructors, fitness, movement and recreation professionals and Active Ageing development officers.
Key headlines include the need to:
- Reach People Living With Dementia through more effective promotion to local services
- Increase the quality of the participant experience through better communication
- Increase support from informal care givers and volunteers
- Adopt appropriate principles that movie from being Dementia Friendly to being Person Centred.
