Published in 2005, the results of a randomised controlled trial comparing FaME (Falls Management Exercise), delivered by PSI’s, with no exercise (control group) on falls in a group of women with a history of 3 or more falls.
The paper describes the background need for an effective group programme for those with a history of frequent falls. The programme, delivered over 9 months (once a week in a group and twice a week at home), by trained exercise instructors, significantly reduced falls. The exercises delivered in this programme are the same as the exercises taught on the LLT PSI Course.
