As you may know the British Heart Foundation National Centre (BHFNC) will hold its 11th annual conference on Thursday 17th November 2011.
Translating the evidence: What works for physical activity? will bring together the latest evidence on the most effective approaches to promoting physical activity across the life course and explore how to use this information to develop evidence based physical activity interventions and funding applications.
This conference, which takes place at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham, will provide delegates with an excellent opportunity to:
- Learn more about the latest UK physical activity guidelines and how to translate these into practice
- Examine the evidence on effective physical activity interventions across the lifespan and learn how to use this to develop evidence based programmes.
- Explore how to develop practical evaluation methods to capture the impact and cost value of different physical activity interventions.
- Discuss and debate ‘what counts’ as evidence in public health and consider how to use this to influence policy makers, commissioners and practitioners.
- Examine the latest evidence demonstrating the return on investment of physical activity promotion and using this effectively.
Full delegate rate is £185 + VAT with a price of £155 + VAT for students and voluntary sector.
The BHFNC is also looking for case studies of physical activity interventions and programmes with a clear evidence base that are directly based upon evidence of effectiveness, need and value for money. A selected number of projects will be offered the opportunity to showcase their work via a poster presentation and informal discussion with delegates in the case study zone at the on 17th November.
